New Vaccine for Herpes (HSV-2)
We have been told for so long there is no cure available for the Herpes Virus. What you are about to read includes information about a clinical trial for preventing and treating HSV-2. Here you will find the link to the article and below I would like to share my personal opinion about the clinical trial.
The first question to come to mind is that the article states that trial is for Herpes Simplex Virus 2 which is responsible for causing genital herpes. However, HSV-1 which is responsible for oral herpes can cause sores and blisters in the genital area. Will the vaccine be effective for treating both variations of the virus? If not we still have a major obstacle to overcome because most genital herpes outbreaks are caused by HSV-1.
My second concern is that it is mentioned that the estimated market for herpes treatment is valued at 6 billion dollars. As a natural health researcher I start to get very concerned when an area in the health industry is generating billions of dollars to administer treatments. It causes a question of moral ethics and motives. If over a half a billion individuals are infected with the virus this could lead to the opportunity to prevent the spread of the virus but only if the vaccine is not harmful.
Food for thought: if a vaccination is able to be created to prevent or even treat herpes this is further proof that the body has the ability to kill the virus when equipped with a healthy immune system and supplementation.
